Pilates Groove at the Belly Bump Bar!!!

Its Thursday and we all have one more day before Friday...Can I get a WOOOHOOOO!?!

I wanted to let you all know about a really awesome class that we are having tonight at the bar. It is a Pilate's Groove Class...its free...even better right!! It is being taught by an amazing women, Bethany who is fully certified and knows her stuff! After the workout we all get to have power smoothie at the bar (this is not included in the free for the class), but I know that for the small charge you will be very pleasantly surprised and refreshed...

I am going to be there and would...love...love to see you there.

breakouts at my age - UGH!!!

Its Monday, don't worry, it will soon be over and this weekend is Labor day weekend...the last HOORAY before the kids go back to school!! Also be sure to take a look at our calendar of events, for the upcoming months...that will definitely give you something to smile about.

So as you can read from you from my title I am having breakouts. Seriously something I thought I was over and done with a very loooooong time ago, but no such luck.

I have tried so many different things and nothing really seems to work for me, because all the creams that I have used has only increased the redness and dries out my skin something horrible. Also, as you get to your forties, you have to fight the battle with the evil wrinkle and these acne creams just are not that conducive to reducing fine lines.

I have started using Artistry. A line of skin care products, it is still early days, but I am seeing an improvement, my lines are much reduced and my breakouts are less, but I do have one that managed to sneak on my face.

So the question of the day is: What do you recommend for a person older than 35 who still has breakouts, but is also concerned with fine lines and wrinkles??

If anyone has a something that has worked for them, let me know...I am all ears!

Phrase of the day - NEVER NEVER GIVE UP!!!

How about that for a phrase, hey??Here at the Belly Bump Bar you will come to realise that even when things seems like it is time to quit and give up....We Don't!! The reason I know, is because everyone of the partners, Julie, LaGayle, Rob and me (Sheralee) have experienced it and have continued on down the path, only to experience the feeling of overwhelming joy and success when what we work so hard for pays off.Now don't get me wrong, I am not talking BIG payoff, I am talking small ones. Just like how a really good baseball game is won...by slowly moving your teammates from one base to another, with one hit and then another and before you know a HOME RUN!!!I ask each one of you who read my blog, to take some time to come by the bar (be sure to check our operating hours on our website, because one of the partners wants to be there for you)come and just chat, try our mocktail of the month and ask us about the little miracles that happen everyday at the bar. Little miracles such as, getting a parking spot right at the entrance to the bar!! Like asking for an extra cherry in your mocktail and getting it, with a smile!! autism - go on read on....

Well its Sunday and I have just got back from my Sons baseball practice and I met some really awesome women and Moms whose Sons are on the team and who have been diagnosed with highly functioning autism...You would never believe to speak to them or watch them interact with their team mates, but nonetheless they have it.Now I cannot give any more input, but to hopefully open the lines of communications and discussion about whether this increase of autism is attributed to all the shots we give our children at a young age or whether it is not related and it is just that we are able to diagnose it because we have better tests to monitor our children?Not sure, but either way, I want you to know that here at the belly bump bar, we want to hear both sides of the story and we want to support you no matter what you believe. To that point, we would like to put out the call for any Pediatrician, Doctor, Specialist, Mom, Dad, Grandparent who want to come and talk at the bar and let us know of their experience and if you can bring fact to back up any claim, even better. Or if you just want to come and speak about your experience and let other parents know that they are not alone and that you have been where they are and you understand!Please check out our calendar of events and if there is time that you think you can squeeze out for us...then email Julie or LaGayle or me (Sheralee) and come on down and speak there are people who will listen... BELLY BUMP BAR - Tip - Take time to say THANK YOU!

Happy Sunday, everyone!! What a great sunny day it was in South OC.

From time to time, I will post a Tip, from the partners at the BELLY BUMP BAR. Well the tip for today, is to try and take the time to say Thank you!!

Two very small words and it can even be made into one short word, thanks....but how POWERFUL it is.

When you wake in the morning, say thank you for the day and as you walk or drag yourself to the bathroom, say thank you a few more times, I promise you, by the time you get to the kitchen, you will actually feel better about the day!

There is so much, we at the bar are thankful for...and in no particular order, here is a brief list:

Its just the beginning of August and our beloved BELLY BUMP BAR has been open for just one short week, BUT let me tell you there is soooo much going on at the bar. If you have a moment, be sure to go and check out the calendar of events....

Look, I have even got a picture of my Daughter showing how excited she is about our BELLY BUMP BAR!!!

We have a Green cupcake event for the kids and they get their very own certificate of "Green-pletion" after having finished. The certificate says that they are a bona fide Green kid, who is trying to blaze the trail into the green and eco-friendly zone.

We also have a Southern Living event happening and a Wine tasting date night.

Granola at the BELLY BUMP BAR!!

Happy Wednesday and thank you for taking the time to swing by our blog! Part of what makes the BELLY BUMP BAR the place to be, is because we try really, really hard to listen to our visitors and clients. Johnathan, who is an amazing guy and who is a valued patron at our organic bar, suggested that we make granola!

Soooooooo....we listened and today I took it upon myself to make the very first Belly Bump Bar Granola. We are still deciding on what to call it, so if you have a name that personifies our organic, laid back, funky style, please email us at info@bellybumpbar.com and make a granola name suggestion!

Long story short, its your basic granola, with no nuts, because one of the partners is allergic to nuts. One thing that I did add to it, just because I like it, is ginger snaps....Yum, then of course all the stuff that personifies granola...oats; cranberries, maple syrup, coconut and so on and so,

I have attached a picture of my Daughter, Gabriella, getting up close and personal with the ingredients before it became the granola Ala belly bump bar!!

BELLY BUMP BAR ALWAYS SAYS THANK YOU!!

The partners at the bar, Julie, LaGayle and myself always...always believe in saying THANK YOU!!! So from time to time, I will blog for all of us and say Thanks! Today's blog is to say Thanks to our Moms, and also to all the women out there whether they have children or furry children...without a Mom in this world, what a miserable place this would be. I could be here all night expressing our thanks and gratitude to our Moms, so rather than go off on a long-winded sonnet about Mothers, I am going to speak to the partners three Moms. We have the BEST Moms in the world and you want to know why? Well because they drive us crazy at times, but they always want what is best for us. They will give everything they have to see their children succeed and Julie, LaGayle and me I blessed to have such awesome Moms like we do. Thank you Mom and God keep you safe always for us!!!

What a day it was at the bar!!!

WOW...I can hardly believe August 1st day came. Finally a dream has become a reality. Our very special funky little shaky... THE BELLY BUMP BAR is open and ready for business!!
